Sculpture Of Khafre

sculpture of khafre
Is the granite statue of the Pharoah Khafre really him?

The Egyptians of Khafre’s (the one who built the sphinx) time only had stone and copper tools yet they supposedly sculpted Khafre’s statue out of solid Granite (or was it diorite). In a recent article in the smithsonian a professor and his students found that after only a few strikes of copper against limestone (which is soft), the copper tools became dull. So how could the eyptians have made such a detailed sculpture in Khafre’s time using only stone and copper tools to shape very hard granite? Has anyone theorized that the statue found in the temple near the sphinx is not actually khafre? If so, are there any books, articles or websites that I can read regarding this?

No. There is hardly any granite in the real Pharaoh Khafre.

The Sphinx is Khafra
