I am having difficulty creating a thesis statement for a descriptive essay?

I need to write a descriptive essay. I can’t think of a good thesis statement. I have never written an essay, and I can’t figure out how to organize my thoughts. I thought I could write about something relating to my brother’s death. I know a descriptive essay requires details. Are these appropriate details? He was the youngest of 5. He was the only boy. He died on Memorial day, 6 days after the birth of my 4th child. The call was one of my worst memories. I refused to accept he was dead until I could see him for myself. I remember when I did. My heart sank. He looked like he was sleeping, only he wasn’t. He was there, but he was gone. His face looked like a wax sculpture, and it was. He had been reshaped because of the damage. I kissed his forehead and it was cold and hard.
Can this topic work? How do I make it work? Any suggestions on a thesis statement? Can someone give me an outline I can work with to create my paragraphs from?

Okay i dont really know what you are studying so i guess i dont know if that is an appropriate topic or not.
However im currently doing English at university and have to write essays all the time so heres a few tips.

Your first line of every paragraph should make the point that you are going to explore, aswell as refering back to the title to show the point is valid.
Then you should explain your point, give the reasons why you think that.
Then give an example, back it up with some text from a valid source.
Then evaluate your point, drawing it to a conclusion and summing it up.
If you follow these rules its hard to go wrong.

Im not sure how relevant all that is to your subject, but i hope it helps and good luck!
