Why are a lot of sculptures of ancient greece/rome created without clothing?
I always see ancient roman/greek human sculptures without any clothing. i’ve seen some (and there are) sculptures that do have clothing on them before, but most i see are naked.
plus, i always see roman/greek sculptures of males totally nude. but female sculptures tend not to show their whole nude bodies like man sculptures do.
why is all of this? do they make sculptures naked to show more detail? do ancient artist of rome/greece tend to be more modest with female sculptures about clothing?
Your question is a good question and requires a very good answer. Thus i recommend you do some of your own research. Libraries, books, google. There are many sources. Do some research and you’ll find out why.
1 reason though is because of the Olympics. Not the Olympics that we have today which is a Joke in my opinion, but the real creators of the Olympics, the Greek and Romans.
Like i said, do some research, I’m sure you’ll find what you’re looking for
How did the ancient Greeks looked like? Nordic “Aryan” or African?
