Art history question please help 10points best answer ?
Beginning with Augustus, the emperors of the imperial period made full use of the sculpture’s potential as a tool for communicating
a.the will of the gods
b.the republic’s laws
c.the physical ideal
d.their specific ideologies
I would choose C
Look at statues of Caesar. In reality he was a bald bandy legged man but his statues show him as something else.
The Emperors didnt have ideologies, they were empire builders at best and more often than not power grabbers and nothing more.
They were definately not republicans.
How could a statue show the will of the Gods, no one knew what it was
